Due to various reasons like flood or sink leakage, our favorite Carpet may get wet.

• Depending on the wetness, you can decide whether to go for home cleaning or professional help. Cleaning in home can save lot of money.  If the carpet is slightly wet, then remove the water, vacuum clean and dry it under direct sun. If it is completely wet, then you need to take the help of professionals.
• If you find any items on the wet carpet, remove them from there. If your carpet is glued, use the vacuum cleaner to dry it. Do not stop vacuuming until the carpet is dried completely. If your carpet is not glued, then place it outside to dry. Do not bring it inside while it is dried completely.
• If you feel, your vacuum cleaner is not enough to dry the carpet, then on the fans and open all the windows. These will remove the moisture and allows it to dry.
• If you find more wetness, then extract the water using a thick towel or hand cloth. Remove as much as you can. This technique is very useful when you have small areas, which is wet.
• If you have carpet pads, they will absorb the water and prevent carpets from spoiling. It is better to install carpets pads below the carpets; they are less expensive and when the carpets wet you can replace them.
• Wet carpets if not cleaned properly may cause serious health complications mainly to small children.
