If your carpet is in cream color, and your husband wants to dye it into other dark earthy colors like orange or light brown they can be done. The carpet can be either detached from the floor and sprayed with a dye or rinsed in a machine for about 10-20 minutes. The following are the methods of dying the carpets; they are,

  • Spraying: The carpets are to be removed from the floored, before dying them it should be washed and cleaned well. The carpets should be tied or hanged tight so that when the dye is sprayed the color spreads evenly. If the carpet is attached or adhesion to the floor; clean them with a vacuum cleaner or cleaning solutions based on the carpet’s material. Then spray the dye evenly the carpets and the corners also.
  • Machine dyeing: The carpet is removed and washed thoroughly with solutions. The dye is mixed with the solvents and then the carpet is dipped in the machine. The machine is rotated for about 20 minutes. The dyed carpet is dried under shade.
  • Print dyeing: This is one of the methods of dying a carpet which is with multicolor and designs. The dark color areas are absorbed with one color; they can be dyed either by spraying or by using dye pens.
  • Pre-dyeing: The carpet which is to be colored is treated with the primary solutions which may be organic or inorganic acids. They can also be treated with hypoallergic agents, other insecticide materials. The treated carpet is taken into the spinneret and rotated for about 20 minutes. This process is also known as Yarn dyeing.
  • Batch dyeing: This process of dyeing is also called as “Beck” the carpet which is to be dyed is looped at the ends. They are dipped in the water mixed with dye and left to about 2 hours.
